Amid COVID-19 pandemic, the state government has declared summer vacation from May 1 to May 31 for all government schools across Assam .
Addressing a press meet at NHM Office, Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma declared May 1 to May 31 as summer vacation in schools across the state. Normally, summer vacation used to be given in July.
Dr. Sarma also told that SEBA and the AHSEC will declare the results for class 10 and HS examinations on mid-June.
Dr Sarma further added, “This time the students won’t receive paper mark sheet as we don’t want the student to come to school. Everyone will receive digital mark sheets. These mark sheets can be used for admission purpose, too”.
Further, to save the academic year of the students, the state government plans on extending the academic year till 31st March this year. However, the government has sought suggestions on this regard from academicians, rather than taking an one-sided decision by govt.
